A San Francisco native of West Indian and Panamanian heritage. Miss wood began singing at home with her mother, accompanying her on piano and as a child she sang in a gospel choir at the Macedonia Baptist Church. She has performed locally at nightclubs, hotels, supper clubs, wineries and private venues. She has also been a fashion model and an actress.
